چکیده

The incidence and toxicological characteristics of mycotoxigenic Fusarium were assessed in 24 proso millet samples collected from fields on Jeju Island, Korea. isolates the comprised F. asiaticum (19.5%), acuminatum (12.4%), graminearum (11.8%), incarnatum (10.7%), equiseti tricinctum (8.9%), 12 other species. contaminated with zearalenone (62.5%), deoxynivalenol (45.8%), nivalenol (41.7%) at maximum levels 117.7, 861.8, 433.2 ng/g, respectively. T-2/HT-2 toxins also detected. Co-occurrence more than two mycotoxins was observed 58.3% (14/24) samples. results an vitro assay mycotoxin production revealed that 19 22 produced least one rice medium. asiaticum, graminearum, kyushuense, incarnatum, DON, NIV, ZEN. Two fujikuroi high FBs (3777–12,424 ?g/g, sum B1 B2). tricinctum, acuminatum, up to 13.48 ?g/g. These findings demonstrate major species found Korean are mycotoxigenic, thus further monitoring is necessary.

Phytochemical and Antiproliferative Activity of Proso Millet

The phytochemical content, antioxidant activity and antiproliferative properties of three diverse varieties of proso millet are reported. The free phenolic content ranged from 27.48 (Gumi 20) to 151.14 (Mi2504-6) mg gallic acid equiv/100 g DW. The bound phenolic content ranged from 55.95 (Gumi20) to 305.81 (Mi2504-6) mg gallic acid equiv/100 g DW. The percentage contribution of bound phenolic t...

Transcriptomic analysis, genic SSR development, and genetic diversity of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum; Poaceae)1

PREMISE OF THE STUDY Proso millet (Panicum miliaceum; Poaceae) is a minor crop with good nutritional qualities and strong tolerance to drought stress and soil infertility. However, studies on genetic diversity have been limited due to a lack of efficient genetic markers. METHODS Illumina sequencing technology was used to generate short read sequences of proso millet, and de novo transcriptome...

Fusarium head blight and associated mycotoxin occurrence on winter wheat in Luxembourg in 2007/2008.

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is among the major causes of reduced quality in winter wheat and its products. In addition, the causal fungi produce a variety of toxins. A relatively high FHB infection rate in winter wheat was observed in 2007 and 2008 in Luxembourg. A fusariotoxin survey was carried out in 17 different geographical locations. Three groups of Fusarium mycotoxins (trichothecenes A an...

Population structure of and mycotoxin production by Fusarium graminearum from maize in South Korea.

Fusarium graminearum (Gibberella zeae) is an important pathogen of wheat, maize, barley, and rice in South Korea, and harvested grain often is contaminated with trichothecenes such as deoxynivalenol and nivalenol. In this study, we examined 568 isolates of F. graminearum collected from maize at eight locations in South Korea. We used amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs) to identify f...

Evaluation of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) germplasm collections

Evaluation of three hundred and sixty four proso millet germplasm accessions were done during rabi, 2008-2009 at Department of Millets, Centre for Plant Breeding and Genetics, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to study genetic variability, diversity, correlation and path analysis of yield and its components. High variability observed for most of the characters indicated the scope o...
